Welcome to starting your coaching/mentoring journey with the West Midlands Coaching and Mentoring Pool (WMCMP)!

If.....

  • you have discussed with your manager and both agree that coaching/mentoring is the right route for your development.
  • can give the time commitment required for the coaching/mentoring.
  • your line manager has given approval to start your coaching/mentoring relationship.

...then you can now access the on-line matching site to register for a coach or mentor to outline what you want to gain by engaging with them.

Working with a coach or mentor can make a profound impact on performance and confidence. Therefore as part of our wider People Development resources to enhance the skills and talents of our staff the University of Gloucestershire is adding coaching and mentoring through the West Midlands Coaching and Mentoring Pool.

Accessing trained and accredited coaches from the range of organisations represented within the West Midlands Pool offers a unique opportunity to focus on specific issues within a professional and confidential setting with someone from an external environment.  It enables reflection, promotes understanding and brings forward fresh insights to move to reach the desired outcomes.

Therefore as part of our wider People Development resources to enhance the skills and talents of our staff the University of Gloucestershire is adding coaching and mentoring through the West Midlands Coaching and Mentoring Pool.

Accessing trained and accredited coaches from the range of organisations represented within the West Midlands Pool offers a unique opportunity to focus on specific issues within a professional and confidential setting with someone from an external environment.

Who could benefit? 

We are offering this to 4 categories of staff:

1. Managers

  • Newly promoted or have taken on new responsibilities
  • Managing change or rebuilding a team post-change
  • Leading a new project/initiative/transformation programme

2. Aiding transition back into the University:

Returning to work after a long absence after:

  • Maternity Leave
  • long –term illness
  • career break

3. Personal and Career Development

For anyone wanting:

  • to improve personal effectiveness,
  • to  increase confidence and skills in leading your team
  • to focus on career or personal development

 4. All staff affected by the current Securing a Sustainable Future programme
