The Coaching and Mentoring Pool

 

The work environment is changing for everyone; employees need to continually develop their skills and employers need a more flexible workforce. Coaching and mentoring employees can play a vital part in building capacity and skills. The West Midlands Coaching and Mentoring Pool is a large scale, innovative and practitioner led project that is part of an ongoing drive to improve public sector performance.

Together we are working together to achieve our vision of:

Formally the West Midlands Coaching Pool, the partnership has now expanded to include mentoring as part of its strategic aims to:

  • Provide partner organisations with regular access to professional high quality coaching for their employees via a shared service/cost approach
  • Raise awareness of coaching and the benefits
  • Maintain a strong ethos of partnership working and promote a learning climate through partnership
  • Raise the profile of the West Midlands Coaching Pool through sharing and promoting the partnership regionally and nationally
  • Expand the offer to include mentoring and other tailored development to meet growing needs of customers

 

 

 

 

Through being part of the Coaching an Mentoring Pool organisations benefit from:

 A fully supported service through West Midlands Employers who facilitate and manage the Coaching and Mentoring Pool as a shared service on behalf of the Partnership of public sector organisations.

This includes:

  • Support for Partnership Board Meetings
  • Fully managed service for training sessions and events, including the annual coaching and mentoring conference
  • Coordinating the matching process via the online matching system
  • Providing support and advice to coaches, mentors, clients and partners 
  • Raising regional and national awareness for programme
  • Procurement processes and financial management
  • Full contract management
  • Relationship management with service providers
  • Support to improve and develop a shared coaching and mentoring service; including data collation, analysis and reporting at a strategic and operation level

 

How can my organisation join the pool?

All organisations are facing challenges ahead and coaching is able to support and enhance the skills of those who need to bring your organisation through these difficult times. Coaching and mentoring enables performance improvement for the individuals who receive it, improvements in the way they manage their projects and teams; and subsequently improvements to your organisation!

Organisations joining the pool need

  • Commitment to the programme from Senior Management
  • Contribute coaches and mentors to the pool
  • Pay an annual subscription fee
  • A Partnership Board Representative
