Hot Topics

At West Midlands Employers we believe that one of the hardest moves to achieve is the transition from being a team member to that of team leader or supervisor. Someone stepping up to a supervisory role is no longer on equal terms with their peers. They have to earn their respect, show authority, leadership and often have to make unpopular decisions.

Our new Hot Topics series encompasses the essential elements of supervision and line management and will provide valuable guidance on effective performance and people management for anyone taking on the responsibility of managing others for the first time.

Shift Happens

This workshop incorporates tips for improving your skills in managing change which are underpinned with practical activities and exercises providing participants with the space to think through potential challenges to change that they are currently undertaking (or due to embark upon in the near future) and plan to make shift happen.

Step Up

This two day course encompasses the essential elements of supervision and will provide valuable guidance on effective performance and people management for anyone taking on the responsibility of supervising others. It is practical two-day programme that provides an ideal foundation for a range of management development training and is designed to help participants make the transition from team member to an efficient and respected supervisor.
