The West Midlands Coaching Pool is extremely proud to present the short film “Get a Coach”

One of the biggest challenges for the executive coaching sector, and indeed the West Midlands Coaching Pool , is ensuring that people understand what executive coaching is and also what it can achieve.
Please note that the film includes a contribution from Phil Poultney who, very sadly, passed away in February 2012.
West Midlands Employers does not wish to cause viewers any distress should you have known Phil. We do pay tribute to Phil, who was so supportive of the West Midlands Coaching Pool, a great coach and colleague.
The Coaching Pool Partnership believed that one of the most effective ways to explain what coaching is and the positive effect it can have on employees and organisations would be to develop a short film with real examples of what coaching involves and has achieved.
The benefits of using film are that people remember more and are more keen to act after seeing things for real than they ever will be after reading alone. Recall rate after reading content is 10%. After seeing a film and discussing content – this rises to 70% recall.
After watching the film people will…
- be clear what coaching is and the business case – the why do it
- be wanting to use coaching as a tool to support managers and indeed themselves – the want to do it
- be confident in the principles and practices and how to use these to help their organisation and people – the how to do it
The film features a wide range of contributors including Chief Executives of Local Authorities, Coaching Pool coaches and clients (coachees) and national recognised experts on coaching.
Everybody involved with the DVD and film is very proud with what has been achieved with what we believe to be the first production of its kind. We hope that you find it enjoyable and informative.
'Get a Coach' was commissioned and funded by the West Midlands Coaching Pool, in collaboration with its partners.
The film was written and produced by Fiona Narburgh who in addition to being Head of Strategy and Communications at Wychavon District Council is also a West Midlands Coaching Pool coach.
